Max Naughton is the sole owner of The Lone Moon
Campsite in the middle of the glorious Landis
National Park. Business is steady, until a huge
Bio Park opens a mile up the road. It offers heated
log cabins, swimming pools, gyms and saunas –
the ultimate holiday experience. Max’s campsite
suddenly becomes a ghost site: debts pile up and
the bank threatens to take it away from him. Then,
one night Max hears a wolf howl from somewhere
deep in the forest and an idea strikes him: what
he needs is something to set his campsite apart
from the Bio Parks of the world. He needs to make
his campsite not famous, but infamous…
Max posts a couple
of staged werewolf sightings on his website. He
even goes as far as to tear up an old tent with
a rake and claim it has been “torn to shreds
by the beast!” At first he only has a couple
of skeptical people pitching at the site. However,
when they see the animal with their own eyes stalking
through the tree line at night, word of mouth
spreads like wildfire. Soon a couple becomes ten,
becomes a hundred, and suddenly The Lone Moon
Campsite is the number one place to stay. And
every so often one lucky camper would see him
– the werewolf – well, Max dressed
in a homemade furry suit. The perfect scheme –
what could possibly go wrong?
He can explain…
